Myasthenia Gravis a serious neuro-muscular disease. It manifests itself by varying degrees of voluntary muscle weakness.

Symptoms include drooping eyelids, double vision, slurred speech, difficulty chewing, swallowing, talking, walking or breathing. The disease and its symptoms result from a defect in transmission of the nerve impulse to the muscles at the nerve-muscle junction in the body. MG has no know cause or cure.

The Ohio Chapter, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation is the only volunteer health agency in Ohio dedicated solely to the fight against MG through funds for research, education, information and patient services. Since 1972, the Ohio Chapter has grown from less than 100 patients to over 1,100 know patients statewide. There are many more which remain undiagnosed.
